Stonehenge is oriented to mark the sunrise and moonrise at the summer and winter solstices. At sunset of the Summer Solstice the Heel Stone casts a shadow on the Altar Stone. The exact usage beyond this remains unknown. As years passed, different religious groups have altered the site to suit their specific purposes.

The bluestones of stonehenge are a point of great wondrance. These incredible stones are not local and are only found in the Preseli Mountains of South Wales. The Accepted scientific theory is that they were deposited in the area by glaciers. Other, more mysterious ponderences, say that giants who once roamed the lands carried the stones to Brittany. Some even say that Merlyn himself flew the stones to their present location for their mystic powers. But only Merlyn knows for sure...

Evacuations at stonehenge show that double circle of bluestones was never completed.
